This study is aimed at estimating suspended sediment load in watersheds in Hormozgan Province. The mean annual suspended sediments were considered as the dependent variable and 21 parameters of morphological and climatic factors were selected as independent parameters. For this study, data from 19 gauge and hydrometric stations during a 21- year period (1991-2011) were used. This analysis is presented in two steps, main parameters and homogenous groups have been selected using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and hierarchal clustering analysis, and at the next stage, regional homogeneity of nominated groups have been determined using multiple regression equations. For selecting the optimal number of homogeneity groups, different clustering scenarios were considered and their overall impacts on cluster validation indices were assessed. These three scenarios include, dependent variable, independent parameters and all of the variables. The performance of the models was evaluated using the coefficient of determination (R2) and the Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency. The watersheds were divided into two clusters and multiple regression models were built in each homogenous region. Eventually, the models with coefficients of determination of 0.78 and 0.84 were presented to estimate the mean annual suspended sediments. Based on this research, it is recommended to evaluate more watersheds with the various condition to reach the plurality and quality of these models for estimation of sediments in the ungagged area.
